As part of the AWS account preparation, you need to create AWS credentials for CloudCheckr using a cross-account role. A cross-account access role provides you with control and visibility into all the users and roles within your deployment.
There are two methods for creating a cross-account role:
- manually create a cross-account role using tools in CloudCheckr and the AWS Management Console
- automatically create a cross-account role using AWS CloudFormation
The manual method, Create a Cross Account Access Role Manually, is a good option if you are new to the AWS environment or if you want to customize your cross-account role.
The automatic method, Creating AWS Credentials with Cloud Formation, is the fastest method for creating a cross-account role, but may be better suited to customers who are familiar with the AWS environment.
