The S3 Cost Warnings Report shows potential cost-saving areas within AWS Simple Storage Service (S3).

Total Possible Savings Per Month: Shows the total number of dollars that could be saved within S3.

Convert Standard Storage Files to Reduced Redundancy: Shows how much money could be saved if all files were stored using Reduced Redundancy storage.

  • Current Costs Per Month – the total storage costs of all S3 objects.
  • Reduced Redundancy Costs – the total storage costs if all objects were stored using Reduced Redundancy.
  • Savings – the total savings that could be obtained if all standard storage objects were converted to Reduced Redundancy storage.

Move Buckets to Lowest Priced Regions: Shows how much money could be saved if all objects were stored within the US East (Virginia) region, which is the least expensive within S3.

  • Current Costs Per Month – the total storage costs of all S3 objects.
  • Cheaper Region Costs – the total storage costs if all objects were stored within US East (Virginia).
  • Savings – the total savings that could be obtained if all buckets and objects were moved to US East (Virginia).

Top 10 Files By Cost: Shows the largest objects stored within S3.

  • Object Name – the name of the object.
  • Bucket Name – the name of the bucket the object is stored wtihin.
  • Cost Per Month – the total storage cost of that object per month.
